Wagner's Village Inn 07/20

Randy & Sherry planned a DnD to Randy's old stomping ground which is near Wagner's Village Inn in Oldenburg. Those able to go along with the hosts were Paul & Londa, Bob & Cindy, Tom & Nancy, Wylie & Rita, Charlie & Eileen, Bill & Erika, John & Ruth, Jim, and Mark for the 11:30 departure time. The drive started at the Culver's in Shelbyville which still gave us an hour drive on state highways to enjoy the scenery and curves of IN 227. Unfortunately somewhere around Midway (a wide spot on 52) Charlie radioed that he a 2 car state police escort which slowed the group down as they followed us when we turned onto 229. Randy pulled off at a church lot to let the officers go by and followed them at a safe distance the rest of the way into our destination. Wagner's is an old restaurant that for a group our size served their famous peppery fried chicken family style. The meal included 1/2 chicken, great coleslaw, green beans, mashed potatoes , and Rita approved gravy. Once done the group split up with some taking the easy way home via I74 while others retrace the state road routes with Bill & Erika heading up 121, another great Corvette road, through Connersville where the railroad pictures were taken. The weather for the day had storms predicted but other than being extremely hot (90's) and very humid the rain held off for everyone until they got home. It was a really enjoyable drive and a fun group to be with as the summer is moving along.
