COCI Western Tour - Day 8 07/19
Gardiner
With Paul's tire issues the previous evening Monday basically turned into a day of rest and relaxation for all as the group really needed. Paul was very fortunate in that a tire shop had 1 tire of his size in Livingston, which is about 60 miles away from Gardiner, and was able to get it shipped to a local shop 3 miles away that morning. With a torn sidewall he was told it was better to not drive those additional 3 miles and since his insurance would cover it he got a flat bed also out of Livingston to come and pick it up. The tow truck in the first picture actually was there to jump start another car, but it sure generated a lot of conversation on if it could have done the job. Fortunately another company was on the was with the driver arriving a bit before one and carefully loaded it up for the short trip. Paul had his ride back by 2:30, as the day had threatened rain it was decided not to go into the park. Also laundry was done by some, also a bit of gift shopping, and generally the group sat around outside the motel as it was not as hot a day. When dinner time came they headed to Cowboys, which was a nice place but took awhile to get seated. The meals were good though and the usual banter happened. A few went back into the park where they saw a small herd of deer before calling it a night as the group was again to leave early the next morning.
