First Summer Deck Party 07/02

Donna & Greg had a kick off to summer deck party to celebrate the upcoming 4th of July Holiday Weekend. With a hot and humid week leading up to it the evening was absolutely beautiful with low humidity and temps. Most of the COCI members were there including Phil & Anita, Randy & Sherry, Doug & Arminta, Bill & Erika, Wylie & Rita, Jim, Bob & Cindy, John & Ruth, and Tom & Nancy. Food was plentiful with hot dogs and sloppy joes the main fair along with many salads, deserts, and the festive and patriotic charcuterie board that Amrita had designed. With songs recorded by Greg, John, and Charlie in the background along with and enclitic mix of the 50's ~ 70's the group had fun chatting all through the evening. Some of the discussions were about the upcoming trip West and other activities that the group will be doing later in the summer. There was also a discussion about hats, with then an appearance by Greg "Yoder". Nancy commented that he looked just like the Amish they had seen in Ohio a few days before. As always the banter included good fun with memories from the past and the making of new ones. As the evening cooled off the group broke up near 10 with plans for most of them to be at the VFW breakfast the next morning. Again thanks to Greg & Donna for a wonderful evening and a chance to just relax with a group of people that likes being together.
