IMS Chevy Day 05/25
Thanks to Jace of Penske and Mike of Chevy for getting the four club members that wanted to attend the festivities of 500 Legends Day events at IMS tickets. Three of the Corvettes met at Traders Point; they were Jim, Tom & grandson Thomas, along with Bill & grandson Mitchel. Once underway the group met Mark at the way just before Gate 9A off of Georgetown Road. Once there and signed in some watched the two seaters make runs while waiting, while others just rested waiting for the track lap to open. Once the uneventful track lap was done, with Mitch driving Bill's Corvette, they headed into the luncheon provided by Chevy. Speakers included Mike Quinn Chevy Regional rep, Jim Campbell Chevy VP in charge of racing, Ray Theriault Bowling Green Plant manager, and one of the engineers along with Chevy driver Alexander Rossi. Interesting question and answer session was done by all of the presenters with one being how many Corvettes owned over the years by those in attendance, seveal had over 30 and one 50. It was a great meeting and went very well with good food and fun. A great deal of thanks to Chevy for putting on this yearly event enjoyed by those able to attend and another thanks to Jace and Mike for making it happen.
