Carmel Funfest Parade 07/04

After a few years hiatus the club Corvettes were pressed into service to take VFW & American Legion veterans for a ride in the Carmel Funfest Parade. The opportunity came through our relationship with the VFW and going to their Saturday breakfasts. Those answering the call for 10 Corvettes were the 5 C8's of Wylie, John, Bob, Doug, and Paul, Charlie's C7, Bill & Jim's C6s, and the 2 patriotic C5's of Greg & Donna. The Corvettes met their riders at the Legion and soon were on their way to the staging point by the MCL, where a hospitality tent was set up by the USO. After the usual wait, which included donuts and water, the group was on their way with applause and good wishes from those viewing along the whole route. Having the Vets ride along certainly made this year's drive a lot more meaningful for all of us in the parade, and the Vets also had a great time and will be inviting us back next year to repeat the drive.
