Bookers & Blackhawk 05/27
With the weather going to be in the mid 70's before the evening rains a group of 10 members and 6 Corvettes met at Bill & Erika's for a drive to Bookers for the second time this spring. Those able to go were Larry & Joy, Greg & Donna, John & Ruth, Phil, and hookey player Charlie. Taking the route into Westfield, up Mule Barn, and then 38 they soon arrived at Bookers in Kirkland for their 1 PM reservation. As always Bookers was ready for us and their full menu made lunch choices hard with a number of different choices made. Discussions included the upcoming 500, more suggestions for drives including Tom's next week and the usual COCI topics to keep everyone laughing. After a great lunch 6 of the group headed to Blackhawk winery where they all had a glass of wine or slushy and after a bit were told that Thursday's are now a buy one get a second free. So each of the group ended up with a free glass too. This will certainly be factored in to future trips, also Ruth will try to remember to bring chicken feed on future drives to Blackhawk as there is a number of chickens, roosters, and even a turkey that will come by and visit while there.
