Hard Truth Drive 08/03
After a week of rest from the Western trip Sherry and Randy decided it was time for a drive into Brown County and lunch at Hard Truth Distillery on what turned out to be a beautiful day for the beginning of August. Able to go along were Bill & Erika, John & Ruth, Phil, and Charlie, before he goes back to delivering cars on Wednesday. The day's starting point was the Cracker Barrel in Edinburg for a nice back road ride for nearly an hour to the distillery. Getting there before noon allowed them to be seated outdoors overlooking the new amphitheater project being cut into the hill below. Jeff, one of the owners, told us about the project and then treated us to a private distillery tour explaining much of their process. The production there is enough to have expanded into Illinois and soon to Missouri as their business expands. After the tour John took the lead to reverse us toward Indy via what has become known as the 'birthday route' which works it's way back to the Sweetwater lake area and on. Randy & Sherry headed through Atterbury. John, Phil, and Charlie headed up to 252 the East while Bill kept going to US 31 / 465 and home. Traffic was not too bad as we were all ahead of the evening rush hour, which was nice. Again thanks to Randy & Sherry planning and leading the group before lunch and John & Ruth leading us back to civilization.
