Frisch's Big Boy 05/01
With the first of May being another predicted sunny day and it was also discussed on the previous day's great Beef House drive another DnD was planned. This one was to Frisch's Big Boy in Anderson with the possibility of sitting at the back of the lot as we had last summer. Heading out of the West side of Carmel were Tom & Nancy, Bill & Erika, and Bob & Cindy with Bob leading them on a nice drive across to the Applebee's in Noblesville where John & Ruth were meeting the others. As we got out of the Corvettes it was quickly noted that both Bob & Cindy were wearing their Orange caps, as Bob had found that his C8 had come off of the line as the last one built on Friday evening. While there and confirming that no one else was able to go they were about to leave when a lady and her young son drove up. She asked if she could take a picture, the group of course said yes. They were then asked it they wanted to get out and take an even better look. Which they did. Once on the way the group went up the great route of 37 to Strawtown road and 8th street on to Frisch's. On the drive we did notice a distillery on the corner of Jackson street and 8th, which was duly noted. It was warming up, but windy so the group decided to eat inside as the Big Boy was not packed. After a great lunch and fun talk it was decided to try what turned out to be Oakley Brothers Distillery on the way out. A few samples were taken and a few bottles were purchased. The group then broke up as John and Tom headed to Charlie's to show him the C8, while Bob & Bill headed home by the back roads of Central Indiana.
