​Phil's 95th Birthday Drive N Dine 10/18

A great drive from Greg & Donna's to Firebirds via the extended 48.5 mile route to celebrate Phil's 95th birthday of the week before. Those able to meet at the hosts Greg & Donna's for the drive were birthday 'boy' Phil with Annia, John & Ruth, Bill & Erika, Larry & Joy, Jim, Tom, & Mark. The 8 Corvettes headed out and soon were up into Carmel and driving around The Village of West Clay enjoying the fall colors before heading towards Zionsville and on into the farm county roads of Boone and Hendricks which were of course much better than the ones in Marion County. It was noted at one point that leader Greg didn't make a reverse of the route that he usually does when headed to Rick's. The group headed back to 96th street and took it to Firebirds Wood Fired Grill where the rest of the celebratory group of Wylie & Rita, Doug & Arminta, Paul & Londa, Randy & Sherry, and Charlie & Eileen were waiting. Before the meal a quick Happy Birthday was sung to Phil's and everyone elses enjoyment. The meals were great and once done a cake that the Bowron's had picked up was brought out with a single candle as the fire marshel would not allow the 95 otherwise needed. It was a fun afternoon and a great celebration of a great and interesting guy.
