COCI Swinging Golf
Wednesday at Top Golf & Thursday on Turf (or Sand)
With weather getting better and second Covid shots taken the guys have decided to start getting together on Wednesdays to swing their golf clubs or do other activities in the morning.
November 10... 7 swingers and 2 kibitzers made it to Top Golf along with 7 Corvettes for the first time since early summer, on a beautiful Fall day. It was so nice that the heater was actually keeping the group too warm and had to be turned down. Newly retired Doug joined with regulars Paul, John, Tom, Randy, Bob, and Jim along with Wylie and Bill watching the group. The play was a lot fun with the back fence getting hit a few times too. Scores were not important, just the fact that the guys could get together and have a great late morning of fun.
June 2... On a rainy day four members, John, Tom, Bob, & Jim along with documenter Bill took one bay while Paul, Londa, and a few grandchildren and their friends took another to enjoy the morning. With the rain John turned on his best performance with high scores for both rounds even beating the other three. He now wants to always have it rain on Wednesdays. After playing until noon the guys headed over to Chicken Salad Chick for a quick lunch and recap of the day and talk about the upcoming drive to Salem on Friday. It was still raining as they headed for home.
May 5... 8 members made their way to Top Golf on a windy but nice day. This week Bill even tried to swing at the balls after a 30 year layoff of even picking up a club. He has take John's spot as low scorer. After Top Golf four headed to Steak & Shake for a quick lunch. Bill then headed to Levi's Discount Tire store as he had an extremely slow leak that had reared it's head on last week's Beef House trip. Turned out to be just a minor bead leak which was quickly cleaned up by Levi's top notch crew and the man himself. Had a good chat with him also, before heading out.
April 21... Who would have thought that it would be below freezing and 3 inches of snow overnight which made for an interesting morning. Multiple pictures were taken around the usual members houses before four actually headed off for a cold morning's Wednesday Swinging. Those braving the day were Paul, Jim, Bob, & Tom as the snow melted.
Report from Jim who also took the pictures at TopGolf: Only four duffers made it to TopGolf today. The course just had a few patches of snow but the scores were not our best.

April 14... With weather starting to be more Spring like 6 members and the photographer headed to Top Golf for a nice morning of 'swinging'. The day's chatter included track info from Jim and general discussions about Friday's trip to Kentucky. Scores were not discussed or recorded, but possibly Wylie beat Paul on one round and Randy beat Paul on another. After Top Golf four of the guys headed to Blaze Pizza for a quick lunch.
April 7... After missing a week due to Top Golf being full with spring breakers, a single bay was able to be reserved and six 'golfers' made use of the slot. The single bay worked well with Paul in Florida and, because of the 6 person restriction, Bill didn't go to take pictures. So photos were taken by Jim and Wylie this week, even getting a group picture. The guys able to go were Tom, John, Bob, Randy, Wylie, & Jim along with a surprise visit from a CI spy.
After their strenuous 'swinging' the group headed to Ford's Garage for lunch.

March 24... This week Paul got a reservation for a bay at Top Golf which allowed for the 5 golfers and one photographer. The guys were swinging for the fence today with John even getting his first 75 point shot of the season. The bays were busy as Spring Break has started and the facility is getting busier every week. Paul is already getting next week's time setup. After the session the 6 headed off to the nearby Steak N Shake where they could order inside and then eat at the picnic tables in their parking lot. The day was getting warmer but a bit windy, it was still nice to sit outside. Looks like our park visit DnD's will soon be starting as we had a lot of fun with them last year.
March 17... No times were available at Top Golf, so Tom suggested lunch at Ford's Garage instead. Most of the usual swinger group made it for a fun lunch time and lots of stories.
March 10.. With better weather a bit larger group made it this week including Paul, Randy, Bob, Wylie, Jim, Tom, John, with Bill taking pictures and a visit from Doug too. Recorded scores were not representative of how swings were going as the ball tractor certainly got in the way of several well placed hits.
March 3.. 6 guys and 5 Corvettes headed to Top Golf for the morning.
