Ivanhoe in Upland 06/21
On Monday's Zoom call John shared that he and Doug had been talking about going to Ivanhoe in Upland to get strawberry short cake and lunch for those who also wanted to. It was decided to go on Tuesday afternoon and meeting at Applebee's to drive up 37 to 35 across to Upland. John sent out a group text for those that were not on Monday's call. The three couples, Doug & Arminta, John & Ruth, and Tom & Nancy with their few weeks old C8's and Bill & Erika's C5 'Maxx' were able to go. In the first pictures notice everyone looking at the left rear of Maxx as they were amazed at it's self healing bumper. The last two pictures of the gallery show the results of a parking lot wrinkle and the sun heating the bumper up enough actually have it return to it's original shape 4 hours later on Sunday. Tuesday turned out to be the hottest in four years so everyone kept their tops up an AC on full for the great drive Northeast. Ivanhoe's was busy but well worth the wait for the BEST Coney dog ever as voted by those that had them along with huge strawberry shortcake for everyone to enjoy. The drive home was the reverse of the route up except the three from the West side drove through Cicero to Bakers Corner to miss the 146th street rush hour traffic, which is only getting worse as time goes on. It was a fun afternoon with more drives to be planned in the very near future.
