Bookers Drive 10/13
Greg & Donna looked at the weather for Wednesday and planned a DnD for those in town while a part of the club were having a great time in Kentucky at the Keenland racing event. They had thought about a local drive but he and Bill came up with the longer drive to Bookers. With Jim S at the track, Greg & Donna, Bill & Erika, Bob & Cindy, Doug & Arminta, and Phil & Anita were able to enjoy the day. Starting at G & D's the group first surprised Phil with a cake for his 93rd birthday the next day. Eating the cake before leaving quelled the usual hunger pains. The drive headed up through Carmel, missing a few road closures getting to go across 32 and then over to Mule Barn, probably for the last time this year. After Sheridan the drive was an easy one on 38 and parking right in front of the restaurant. While waiting for our table to be setup everyone noted Anita's new red shoes before heading to the private area set for us. Bookers special of the day was Breaded Tenderloin sandwiches, which most everyone ordered. After eating the group kept chatting until it started to rain. Waiting a few minutes the rain slowed enough for everyone to make it to their close parking spots. So again, as in other times, no one can say that their Corvette has not been in the rain.
