Drive #1 - Bookers & Blackhawk 03/05
Snow off of the streets and just about 100% of the members having both of their Covid shots in their arms, along with a sunny day in the high 40's, a quickly planned drive to Bookers in Kirkland was the new club's first official drive for 2021. To start the day the group of 8 Corvettes and 14 members met at the Noble Romans on SR 32. Those able to make the day's outing were Bill & Erika, Greg & Donna, Tom & Nancy, Bob & Cindy, Charlie & Eileen, John, Phil, and newly back from Florida via North Carolina Larry & Joy having reclaimed their C8 from John's winter storage. On Greg's C7 was the new large cling that looked great on his back window. He can get them made in any size wanted as he also has a number of little ones that look good on a model car too.
As the group was hungry a quick trip was made out SR 32 and up US 421 to the bank parking lot across from Bookers. Once inside we were directed to their new room which had been set up for us to enjoy our first outing. While there we told the waitress that we are a new club that had spun off from the old one, she then quickly called us "the cool kids club" which is a fitting name for our group. After a filling lunch and lots of discussion the group gathered up and headed to their next stop of Blackhawk Winery. Going down IN 38 and across county roads they arrived for a late afternoon visit. While there, along with a glasses of wine, a few bottles were purchased to stock empty wine racks. This was especially true for Larry and Joy as their new house didn't have any because they had left some in NC. As the afternoon moved on it got late enough for the daily zoom meeting, which was joined in to let the rest of the group know what had gone on that afternoon. Once done with zoom the group headed home after already looking at next weeks weather and discussing doing more drives as the weather allows.
