DnD to DeLullo's 08/11
Corvettes of Central Indiana rode again today. Donna and Greg led a caravan from their home starting at 1:30pm. The first order of business was a quick route change out of the area to avoid some asphalt work at 86th & Springmill. That worked well so it was soon back on the planned route which included a tour of Carmel in a “round a bout” fashion. Once north of there we made a quick pit stop at Stuckey’s Orchard. From there we borrowed some of Bill’s favorite route towards Kirkland and then back down south for a tour of Sheridan. From there we took a quick cruise east for a tour of Cicero and then stopped at 3pm for Linner at DeLullo’s where for some the trip ended with a special, “tour of Italy”. For the third time the restaurant opened early for our Corvette group so we had the place to ourselves. As usual the food was great and so was the service from Sharon and her daughter. (We thanked Jama for opening early for us and we are invited back if we want to take another Cicero run somewhere down the road.). Some (like Donna) couldn’t resist the fantastic desserts while others elected to prolong the beautiful day and proceeded on a follow up drive to Lapel for some Ice Cream Plus a little more fun. The tops were mostly up so the heat and humidity wasn’t a problem so the only wet blanket for the day was a brief shower that we took while driving on 193rd Street as we neared Stuckeys. It just gave Greg an opportunity to see if his Vette actually had wipers. It does! Larry & Joy, Bob & Cindy, Doug & Arminta, Tom & Nancy, Randy & Sherry, Jim, John & Ruth, Phil & Anita, and Terry made the Drive N Dine. Bill & Erika had to cancel at the last minute due to health concerns with Junior their cat and we hope that issue ends well. The caravan of 10 beautiful Vettes turned heads as we cruised along.
Thank you everyone for attending, we had fun and look forward to the next club event!
