2020 Tuesday or Wednesday Top Golf

Tuesday mornings has now become a visit to Top Golf in in Fishers for the true golfers and a few duffers plus those who just like to get out then and maybe heckle a bit. As the dedicated golfers get in to the season they will head to real links while a solid group will still practice at the Top Golf facility. After golf they head over to Nickle Plate for lunch and more stories and other important discussions of great importance.
10/27/2020
The Zoom group met and discussed the deplorable actions of some of the officers during the previous night's meeting while a few other members met at Top Golf on what turned out to be a damp day.
10/20/2020
A good zoom group of 5 along with 5 at the range on a very cold morning. As Bill R's pictures show there were no Corvettes exposed to the cold morning, all stayed home in their warm garages.
10/13/2020
The zoom meeting kicked off on a sunny but cool morning with lots of discussions including the valve spring C8 issues and other Corvette topics then moved on to the upcoming club elections that are getting very close. The Top Golfers had a nice day with one Corvette making it to the lot.
09/30/2020
Small group of 4 was on the zoom call on a sunny day in both Carmel and Lake Lure NC. Good discussions including Tom saying that his carpet is finally installed and now he is ready to rehang pictures. He had no offers for help with doing that project. With good weather the guys were looking forward to taking drives later in the week, while Bill will continue driving around the NC Corvette roads with Larry & Joy who have a house in Black Mountain NC.
09/23/2020 Zoom
A smaller group that covered their recycling providers road construction in their areas and other assorted topics made the 45 minutes go by quickly. Next week Jim will be at the track watching over the action.
09/16/2020 Zoom
Five made it to the Zoom meeting with some of the morning talking about the storm down south and that Bob's condo was in the middle of it. During the time each kept an eye on the weather channel as they also talked about Tom's upcoming trip to Mackinaw, Bill heading to NC in a little over a week, John being bothered by a Blue Jay since he was outside and too close to the peanut feeder, and that Jim has not IMS duties until late next week. As always everyone had a good time and a relaxing morning.
09/16/2020 At Top Golf
On a nice morning, warmest of the week, four members made it to Top Golf with 3 actually hitting golf balls and Bill keeping them honest. Three also drove their Corvettes with John still waiting for his C8 convertible to be built in the next week. So they will soon have everyone with their Vette for a fun time.
09/09/2020
On a sunny morning 3 headed to live Top Golf while 4 got up in time to Zoom. The zoom call was so lively that Bill forgot to take a picture of host Tom, Bob, John, & himself. The live group had Bill R taking pictures and John & Ray enjoying hitting the balls at the course. Bill even exercised his Corvette on the beautiful day.
09/02/2020
Another good group on the now Wednesday zoom call got together before their other projects started. Jim had several opportunities to shoot today, Tom was heading out to play golf, John was getting new recliners, and Bill has a family birthday party this evening. So full days for all and hopefully no rain on them.
08/26/2020
The Zoom group got a bit of a late start due to zoom hip cupping, but once going a good group of 6 got on. Some of the topics included Jim talking about working at the track on Tuesday and having an Indy Car experience driver run into the end of pit retainer, which then needed to be repaired. He said that 5 of them did it in less than 30 minutes, so the 500 might not have been red flagged as long as reported if they had tried to fix it Sunday for a green finish.
There were two actual golfers there along with Bill R keeping on eye on them for accurate scores. His report is:
As you can see very small crowd and only one Corvette mine anyway still a good time.
08/12/2020
On a beautiful and even cool morning 3 members got to talk on Zoom while 5 headed to Top Golf to swing their clubs. Jim S had to leave a bit early as he was headed to Lucas Oil with his Corvette to test maneuvering for parking inside for the upcoming Bloomington Gold event. He also talked about the busy schedule of racing on the IMS road course in the weeks following the 500, so he is keeping busy being an onsite Corvette Indy representative. Thanks to Bill R for sending in the Top Golf pictures each week that he goes and watches the golfers.
08/12/2020
The Zoom group got going at 10 with Tom hosting as Jim is again at IMS. The four had a good chat with multiple topics and what will be going on in the next few days.
08/05/2020
A good group at both the Zoom meeting and Top Golf itself on what turned out to be just a beautiful day. The zoom guys had a bit of a struggle getting going as Jim S was off to IMS and there was confusion of who was to be the Host on the new Wednesday day for Top Golf to happen. Thanks to Bill R for the pictures that he took.
07/21/2020
This week's Zoom group was energetic as all were drinking their coffee as the call progressed. There was some talk of the previous night's meeting and the outcome of the vote. Tom said he had a good time on the Michigan weekend, other than getting his Corvette very dirty. This meeting will continue with Bill hosting next week as Jim has an appointment that he needs to go to. As always this is a fun group with good discussions on various topics.
07/14/2020
Lots of discussions today by the Zoom group. Bob talked about 2 screws and a nail in 3 of his 4 tires on the Corvette which had him going to see Levi and now being the proud owner of 4 new AS 3+ tires. The group was told that Jim Noelle's C8 came off of the line at 3:30 yesterday, which precipitated a discussion about dealers and allocations for 2021's coming up. Bob definitely needs to get his order in as he will not get his in '20. Also talked about John's afternoon project of cleaning up the edges of his new patio, which both Bob & Tom offered to come over and watch.

07/07/2020
A good group on Zoom this morning with Jim recounting his working the pits on Sunday during the Brickyard 400 and Saturday as a corner worker. Discussed possible Drive to Carry Out locations to go to in the next few weeks.
Also talked about the meeting and that the proposed By law changes will be coming out in the next newsletter.

06/30/2020
As always a lively virtual Top Golf meeting today.  Interesting to note that the conversations never touched on golf. We discussed chipmunk problems, RFID chips, drive-n-dine ideas, and changes at IMS.  The plan is to continue the Zoom meetings as long as there is interest.
06/23/2020 Zoom Meeting
This morning's group had lots of topic and even mentioned Top Golf half way through. Bill told the group the good news about Jim Kellam and that he didn't need a hip replacement. Tom has his Corvette back at Penske because of his continuous wheel problems and hopes to get it back soon. A possible drive for take out and going to a park to eat was discussed for later in the week. Other things were talked about including continuing the Zoom calls into July.
06/23/2020
A few members headed to Top Golf along with a couple of kibitzers to round out the morning.

06/16/2020
Besides the a group of 5 zooming another group of 5 actually headed to Top Golf to hit a few balls.
The day was beautiful for both groups to enjoy.
06/09/2020
Good group today had multiple topics other than golf discussed during our 45 minute Zoom call. These included different breakfast options, Bill's encountering closed roads going from Levi's store to John Vess's house, so ended up touring Fishers. Bob admitted to accidentally putting 87 octane into his C7 with no harm, but has refilled with 93 since that mistake. Talked a bit about the virus with some good info from Bob about exposure rates that Cindy is learning as this pandemic goes on. There were actually a couple of members that headed to Top Golf for real today, John V & Dave P.
06/02/2020
This weeks virtual meeting had multiple topics going on beside when the group will actually go back to the actual hitting of balls at Top Golf. Jim talked a bit about possibly working at IMS and his duties might be during the Brickyard weekend. He hopes to hear for sure in the next week or so. The group also talked about doing a drive to Nashville soon and the other drives like the ones they had taken over the weekend. We also talked a bit about the happenings downtown and that no one would be comfortable doing a Corvettes Around the Circle as things
are now.
05/26/2020
With a good group of 9 members the virtual Top Golf meeting commenced. Even though Top Golf is officially open the group has decided to not go yet as there is too much 'non social distancing' being observed when any of the group are out and about. The group talked about Sunday's drive bye and Bill R shared that he had a video of him doing taps for Memorial Day. See it on the "I Was There in 2020" page. Of course weather was talked about after a really nice Memorial Weekend with little rain going into a week of possible week of rain predicted. At least the weather is finally turning warm and everyone can drive their Corvettes whenever they feel like it, even with tops down!
05/19/2020
With Zoom meetings being the norm for now another good group met online even though the real Top Golf is now open. John V had actually gone by in the morning and observed that they were busy too. That led to a discussion on when and how things are now opening up. Later in the call the two Bills change their lighting for the call with Bill R closing the garage door most of the way and putting the lights on while Bill L opened and closed blinds depending when the cat came in to look out of the front window from his chair next to it. Also talked about the couple of drive byes that are coming up for birthdays and such which will be chances to get the Corvettes out. It was a good call and everyone enjoyed 'seeing' each other until we can for real.

05/12/2020

This week 9 members joined in and had some good conversations including John talking about his bout with the virus, which was interesting to all. We also discussed this weekend's Meatball rally which Bill R will do. As a club we have been discussing doing a drive of our own where we toss $20 in toward the Gleaners project instead of getting lunch, as we can not do that now.
Look for more information coming through Jimmie's emails with this taking place as early as next week.

05/05/2020
Another good group of guys waiting to hit balls and others to give comments met on Zoom. Topics varied from the Birthday drive by on Wednesday to different things opening up. Of course the worry is that when things open up that Top Golf will be very busy and actually hard to get a time for the group to meet. Only time will tell.
04/28/2020
For the first Zoom meeting for the Top Golf group was hosted by Jim Shaver and had eight other members join in. No golf balls virtual or otherwise were hit, but a lot of general discussion took place. It's different but fun.
03/10/2020
On a rainy morning a good group headed to the indoor golf range and then off to lunch.
03/03/2020
Another good group as the weather creeps towards Spring... Also Bill R got Keith to the airport on time.
02/18/2020
The golfing group keeps increasing at Top Golf's Tuesday outings. There are a few in the picture that don't actually take a swing of a club, unless you consider their kibitzing of the true golfers. Thanks to Bill Reynolds for keeping the club updated each week on this ongoing outing.
02/11/2020
Another great group getting their golf swing game loosened up. Court Jester, Shep, did not meet up with the group until lunch as he got an oil change at our sponsor Penske Chevy, along with seeing Bill & Erika there getting one too.
02/04/2020
HUGE group made it to Top Golf on a wet morning before the weather turns to SNOW..
01/28/2020
A gloomy and damp day did not keep the fellows away from another morning at Top Golf.

01/21/2020
Another cold morning still had a great group of 'swingers', of golf clubs that it is.
01/14/2020
Two first time people there Randy and Terry along with Corvettes on a day that is to be near 60 later on.
01/07/2020
Great crowd today 13 people showed up and even a couple Corvettes.
