Rita's Annual Spooktacular 10/28
Rita's 5th Annual Spooktackular was on a cool & damp all hollows type night where the fog machine really worked to hide the door into the house. After viewing all of the outdoor decorations the party goers were greeted by Bat Man & Cat Woman (Wylie & Rita) as they entered into the fully decorated house with lots of snacks and libations ready along with more goodies brought by the arriving members. Among the arrivals were Jim & Shelley, who again got the distance award (if one were given) as they flew in from Mooresville NC at noon. They had even time to check out the new Portillo's and pick up the cake for the party. The total count reached nearly 50 during the evening as the many costumed members arrived and enjoyed the get together. From the pictures it can be seen that the costumes were varied and in some cases even duplicated for confusion of who was behind them at times. As with past years some of the group gravitated to the basement where the World Series was on as others down there had a round table of bourbon tasting. Upstairs the food was continued to be enjoyed and multiple groups of conversations were held. During the evening Susie & Terry arrived with Susie just getting out of the hospital in the morning and looking very good after her surgery. As the first wave left around 9 a few stragglers showed up to enjoy the rest of the evening that went a bit past the bewitching hour of midnight as all good ghosts and goblins needed to be on their way home.
Thanks to Jim Alvis and Marion Cole for documenting the evening's regalia.
