Perillo's Italian Restaurant 08/14

On a warm and sunny August day Mark & Donna hosted their first Retirees & Hookey Player Drive N Dine and headed for a new destination of Perillo's Italian Restaurant in New Salem. They picked the easy starting spot of the old Macaroni Grill parking lot in Traders Point Shopping Center at 86th Street and I-465. With only a couple of days notice they were able to get 10 Corvettes and 17 members and guests there for the 1 PM starting time.  Along with the hosts those able to attend were Jack H, Jim S, Gregg T, Al & Terri F, Tom & Nancy P, Bill & Erika L, Mike & Linda T, Mike L & his son-in-law, and Susie H and a friend for a good group on a wonderful day for a cruise. Mark & Donna had planned a great back road route which included a few familiar roads but mostly ones that have not been part of a club Drive N Dine. The 30 plus mile trip took nearly an hour through the twisty back county roads. Upon arriving the group decided to eat outside on the shaded patio. The food was great and very reasonable, with no one leaving hungry. Having said that, a majority of the group followed Mark to Jamestown and Lizton Dairy Bar a local ice cream shop. Those that were truly full headed on home with several using more back roads to the North of Indy area. Thanks to Mark & Donna for setting up another wonderful afternoon with club members enjoying their Corvettes and their friends that are a part of the Corvette Indy Club.
Jim S later reported the following: The Ice Cream Group followed the directions given by the staff at Perillo's but they must have been yesterday's directions: the road we took was closed.  A quick retreat and regroup and we arrived at our destination. Greg T. must have known the secret road because he was there enjoying his ice cream when the rest of the group arrived. Thanks to Jim & Donna for additional pictures.
