​Main Event 2017 - Sunday 04/30

After even more rain over night Sunday dawned dry but overcast for the second day of events. With the sun coming out 11 more drivers showed up for a total of 38 drivers running, including a few metal cars and non NCCC Corvettes. With the better weather the day got off on time but wind was a bit of a factor as it blew the starting line's canopy down which necessitated some repairs. With a few on course issues and even blown over cones from the blustery wind requiring reruns the first round of events went in to the rain that came back around 1:00. As the rain continued the final first round runs were finished and the few point chasers took a few second round runs to erase their first round DNFs. They then packed up their Corvettes and headed for home. The metal cars that had paid for 14 runs continued in the rain but all the runs were completed by around 2:30. Picking and packing up then quickly took place with the club's trailer soon full of the cones and other items that it takes to run the successful events that the club puts on. The canopies and tent were also packed away for the next club event that they will be used at.
In between working in timing Bill took a few pictures for proof that it happened but again had the help of Jim Alvis and a sore Jim Shaver taking a number of pictures, especially of the dry start to the day.
