​Fishers Parade 06/25

What beautiful weather for a parade with temperature in the 70's. low humidity and a nice breeze. It doesn't get much better than that for top down cruising in a Corvette. A group of 19 Corvette Indy Vettes met at Target in Fishers and then caravan as a group to the staging area for the Fisher's Freedom Festival Parade. We didn't even get our engines shut off before they moved us to another staging area but it was an improvement because we had a parking area that we filled but it was totally ours. That meant no bicycles, no miscellaneous kids, no bubble machines and not even any dogs (unless you count Merlin, Rex and Sassy). This year Greg got us moved closer to the front and that was a great improvement as we started moving about 10 minutes before the parade started and once it started the parade moved quicker than in previous years. It was also an easier exit since the crowd was still in place and the exit roads were virtually empty. In previous years we were near the end of the parade and lots of people were all ready bailing out and that made our exit as a group improbable in th chaotic mess of people all trying to leave at the same time. The net result is that we got to dinner earlier than usual and the group arrived at Granite City about 5:10pm. The restaurant was ready for us, the service was good and the food was even better. As icing on the cake a local magic man that regularly performs tricks (not that kind) at the restaurant entertained us with some unusual and very well performed card tricks. He almost met his match with Paul & Londa's Grandaughter. Her enthusiasm and quick wit entertained the people at the table as well as the magician. It was a great time made better by sharing it with good friends from Corvette Indy. Thanks to Greg for the write-up.
