Ertel Winery in November
With some of the members wine inventory depleting, Bob & Barb along with Bill & Erika planned a second trip of 2013 to Ertel Winery near Batesville. The date picked, Sunday November 3, turned out to be a truly beautiful fall day for a drive through eastern Indiana. Those heading along with the hosts were Dick & Bonnie, Doug & Arminta, Jim & Bonnie, Terry & Susie (who had a furlough from the rehab center) in the SUV to make it an easier ride, and Candee, a friend of Barb's, in her blue C5 coupe. The decision had been made to leave early enough to be able to enjoy the Winery's great buffet, which everyone liked. A convenient starting place near the Perkins restaurant at Allisonville Road and 82 street with easy on to 465 got us on our way. Our route this time was mainly IN52 to IN229 in to Batesville, and we arrived in time to find good parking spots for the Corvettes. As mentioned the brunch was great and the company even better. Once finished and multiple bottles of wine purchased the group headed home. Some took the quicker I74 route, while others meandered back up IN229 to IN121, then IN1, with a few more heading back in to town on I70 and the rest using IN38 to get back to the North side of Indy. A great time was had with the driving season winding down and Corvettes soon being put up for their winter sleep.
