Drive N Dunk
May 12th Drive N Dunk Cruise In At McAlister’s: Several members of Corvette Indy met at McAlister’s for what is known nationally as “Cars and Coffee” and for what we will now refer to as a Drive N Dunk. We met a 9:30am which is a good starting time because parking spots start getting to be at a premium by 10am and as Captain Jack Sparrow might say “even much more worser” McAlister’s stops serving their breakfast at 10am! Present were Greg & Donna, Jim D, Susie and her friend Terry, John & Margaret, Doug & Arminta, Sarah Lee, Dicki, Bill & Cheryl, Randy, Chris & Paula, and guest Tim.
Most of us grabbed some breakfast, shoved some tables together outside and enjoyed the day visiting with friends and afterwards looking at a variety of cars at the cruise-in that besides our display of beautiful Corvettes included Vipers, Mustangs, Beamers, Porsches, Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Lotus’s and more. The cruise-in started to break up by noon and those that stayed until the end were treated to the sound of wide open throttles as the cars accelerated up and down Meridian Street.
This cruise-in is a regular event every Saturday morning during the summer and we will add it to our calendar as it is a great way to start the weekend by having breakfast with our friends while getting an opportunity to drive our Vettes and see other sports cars of interest.
