Delphi Revisited
On Wednesday September 11, possibly the hottest day of the year, Bob & Bill headed off to Delphi in Bob's ZR1 to check the route and a few other items for the October 13 trip. This time they ate lunch at the country club and confirmed that hamburgers are available for those that don't want to eat Mexican fare. From there they headed out to Towpath Road and actually continued on it further this time, which became a more scenic drive. Once off of that road they went in search of the Bat Cave in Logansport where the replicas of the original Batmobile are made. On the way there they spotted Alan's Speed shop, and old friend of Bob's from racing. This shop is great as it specializes in restoring C2 & C3 Corvettes! This is definitely a potential Saturday day trip, even with a local restaurant just down the street. From there, with a few miscues, they found the Batmobile factory and got a quick tour from the owner. Again, another place for a day trip to Logansport. They also found some more good two lane roads to US31 and then south to Carmel.
