Claddagh's 04/29

On an off week Monday the Retiree and Hookey Players took advantage of Claddagh's 2 for the price of 1 Fish dinner special. With the round table fully packed with 14 members the group consisted of couples Bill & Erika L, Greg & Donna B, new car owners Dick & Bonnie P (more on the car later), and singles (some who matched up for the fish deal) of Jim S (our other photographer), Jack H, Bob Y, Rich P, Greg T, Terry S, Arminta I, and Shelly N (who would have been part of a couple if Jim had not been called to duty picking up the Tahoe loaned to Payton Manning over the weekend). Bob and Jack had many tales from their trip to the NCM Bash over the previous weekend (check the Bash page for their pictures). Of course the C7 continues to be a major talk of the table now that prices are announced and affordable. We also got side tracked with 6 Sigma tales and Greg's birthday present to Donna of a trip to the Corvette plant a number of years ago and her suiting up before going in to the paint booth. While speaking of presents, Dick had convinced Bonnie that FIBERGLASS is the appropriate gift for a 50th Wedding Anniversary and in this case the fiberglass gift came in the form of a '09 Yellow Coupe with automatic. As can be seen by the pictures below, the car is in great shape and very clean. But don't let Dick tell you that it has never seen rain, as they drove it home on Sunday from Michigan in the rain! Also while talking about the new car Greg asked Dick if he had looked at the DVD that Greg had discovered for Dick when looking at the new purchase. This got Jack to perk up and ask about the DVD as he had purchased his C6 several years ago with 7 miles on the odometer and not gotten a DVD. This led to an explanation of where Greg had found the DVD and Jack & Dick making a trip out to the cars after lunch. After looking in the rear compartment and under a towel on top of it they found the DVD package and owners manual along with a spare key fob. It was almost like a treasure hunt for Jack, who now has all of the items he was supposed to have. We also took a look at Greg T's new Michelin P2 tires on the rims he had purchased from Bob Y the week before. They look real good and drive so much better than the Goodyear tires they replaced.
The day's outing ended with everyone admiring Dick & Bonnie's new car and getting the itch to start taking real Drives before Dines.
