Brown County Playhouse Evening 06/09
The group was met at Southern Plaza by the caravan leaders, Tammy and Butch DeWitt. The group did a great Corvette ride down US135 South and Railroad Road. Both of these roads had hilly winding curves that allowed participants to enjoy their corvettes driving ability. Upon arrival in Nashville, they were met by Jimmie and Donna Driscoll. They had arrived early to reserve parking and purchase tickets for the Playhouse to allow the group to have some leisure time in Nashville before dinner. We met at 5:30 at Out of the Ordinary for dinner. Everyone had great conversation and a relaxed dinner. We all toasted our friendship & John and Diana Albright’s 49th wedding anniversary. At 7:00 we walked across the street to The Brown County Playhouse, where we had reserved seating in rows 3, 4 and 5.The show, Twisting the Night Away, was full of 50’s and 60’s music along with a lot of dancing. The club was recognized at the performance. We even had two club members participate in the show! Al Forey became ‘Bill’ in The Carpenter’s version of Da Doo Ron Ron and danced on stage. Bob Wilbert let out a huge sigh of relief as he was sitting next to Al and thought he was getting picked. Butch DeWitt participated in a twist contest and won!
After the show those spending the night said their goodbyes to those heading home and walked to Big Woods Brewery. We enjoyed lots of laughter as we remembered the evening. A surprise visit by Al’s aka Bill’s stage girlfriend ensued another hearty round of laughter. It was a beautiful moon lite night for the romantic walk back to Cornerston Inn. Breakfast at the Cornerstone was excellent, with plenty of fruit, sausage casserole, eggs and pastries. The morning visitation had memories of other trips. We must have had a good time because future Drive N Dines and possible ocean cruises were discussed. After breakfast everyone departed to enjoy the beautiful day.
Lots of pictures below the video from Jimmie and Tammy!!
