Brown County Fun Day
The Indiana Region sponsored event which is held at the Brown County park. The day is planned and has the food prepared by the Original Circle City Corvette Club. The Corvette Indy Club Members met at the Kroger located at Southern Plaza for our starting point. With Butch and Tammy in the lead 16 Corvettes followed them out of the parking lot for an extended drive to the park. The group consisted of leaders Butch & Tammy, new member Brandon C, Dean & Zoe, Phillip B, John P, Lynn P, Jewell P, Rich & Suzanne B, Brent & Betty W, Pat & Carol H, Barry R , Chris & Paula W, Andy & Sarah L, Mike & Linda T, Bill & Erika L, Greg & Donna B (making the supreme effort after watching ND win in Chicago the night before), Mark & Donna make the drive but had to head home before entering the park. When we got to the park's parking lot we met John & Dianna who had saved us an seating area for the club.
Once underway we worked our way over to a route that Butch had preplanned, with Tammy making many commentaries about where she and Butch had old 'friends' living at one time or another. She also pointed out a 'haunted house' and other sites along the way. About half way we made a 'picture stop' across from a gas station, which turned in to an extended restroom and snack stop. Once under way we made a circuitous route on many country roads back by the gas station and onto 37 south. After turning off of 37, we got split up due to a short traffic light, to get everyone back together we pulled in to a cemetery and used it's roads to gather the group together. Unfortunately when pulling out we still ended up with a number of 'metal' cars in the group. We motored on with Greg even getting a call from the park wondering where we were and that they were going to start serving lunch.
No harm done, as when we reached the park there was still a lot of food left AND a short line for it!
After lunch was done and everyone had given a good look at all of the beautiful Corvettes parked in the lots the drawings were made for the 50/50 and door prizes. Also, new this year, there was a car show with 6 trophies one for each Corvette series donated by Corvette Indy for the 'C#' winners. We had two winners out of the six classes with Bill & Erika's C3 and Brent & Betty's C4 taking home the trophies. We also had the team of Brent & Butch win second place in the bean bag toss. This is the second year that Butch has done a great job with bean bags, even with a change in rules!
It was a great day over all even though a little overcast and unseasonably cold with just a great drive getting to and fun day while there.
Also Butch & Tammy are now Bead winners for their great job in leading 17 Corvettes on a 76 mile jaunt around Southern Indiana!
