Brown County Fun Day 10/02
As in the past few years the DeWitt's led a great drive to Brown County Park and the annual Corvette Fun Day. This year they changed up the starting point to Knuckle Sandwich just off of 37 & 144, which had breakfast available for the early risers. Most got to the location just in time for the 9:30 pull out time and the hour and half plus back road drive to the park. Once underway Tammie and even Butch gave a running dialog of points of interest, mainly their former boy and girl friend houses. Their comments are always a great addition to the trip. The route kept everyone together very well, and only the need for a few pull offs due to the Corvettes getting split up by traffic lights. Also while going through Nashville we picked up John and Diana to end up with 18 club car rolling through the park gates. The timing was very good as we had just gotten parked and lunch was served. After lunch the members either wandered around the assembled Corvettes and talked with members from other clubs or chatted with each other as they waited for the drawings to take place. This year there were a number of door prizes, a 50/50 drawing, and awards for those that did the poker rally from the mall. Also during the afternoon Tammy took the opportunity to sell the NCCC Corvette Raffle tickets that she had for sale, which she had success selling several. Among those that went this year was one of our newer members Jason in his C4 which was his father's and is being restored and kept in the family. A good group of members had a great day with several couples staying in Nashville overnight to enjoy the sights. The weather even stayed dry and cool for a cloudy but nice fall day which everyone enjoyed.
