Grissom August 2013 Autocross Weekend
On Saturday August 17 six Corvette Indy members headed to Grissom Aeroplex near Peru IN for the Fort Wayne and Corvette Club of Indiana autocross weekend. Five of them drove, with seasoned driver Mike G leading the group along with new drivers Mike & Cathy C, Greg T, and Keith M all who had just attended the Corvette Indy sponsored driving school a few weekends before. Bill L worked a corner and took pictures of the event for the club and region web sights. The day progressed well for the group with each one bettering their previous times as the day went on. Keith even had his family along as a pit crew and cheering section. Look for more of them to join Corvette Indy and get back in to autocross as they have a long history, with his grandmother being a part of the 1995 NCCC Corvette Indy National Championship team. Over all the day went well for the event but ran a little long due to timing light issues, but even with the delay's the members all had a lot of fun and will be attending other weekends soon to improve their driving skills.

On Sunday Mike along with his wife Terri who rode along on each run, Frank & Cathy, and Keith returned for a second day of racing along with Bill & Erika watching the events in the afternoon. The day went well with each driver improving their times as the runs progressed.
