5th Annual Winter Party 01/28
With great weather of no snow & high 20's this year's 5th Winter Party at Bill & Erika Lapham's home was the largest group yet with 64 club members in attendance. This included recent transplants to Charlotte, Jim & Shelley Noelle, who had flown in just for the party in the morning. With very few of the members in the know that they would be attending, there were many surprised and priceless expressions as Shelley greeted them at the door! As in past years a majority of the assembled group headed to the basement where a portion of food and drinks were set out, including one crock pot of Erika's meatballs. Those that chose to stay upstairs in the kitchen and living room area had more food and their own pot of meatballs too. With everyone bringing in either appetizers or desserts there was more than enough for all on both levels of the house. This year the basement TV has the IMSA 24 hour race while the upstairs had the race and various basketball games on. As can be seen in the pictures below, taken by new member Sherry C and regulars Jim A and Bill, there were many groups of conversations going on throughout the house. As usual some of the guys commandeered the lounge chairs in front of the TV while a large group of the ladies gathered around the game table. As the evening progressed everyone continued to move around and mingle with the long term and newer members that were able to attend the annual get together. With everyone welcomed to stay late, around 9 some of the early morning risers started to leave while hard core group stayed until 11:30 with a full evening of fun.
