The October meeting was again held at the Fishers American Legion on a very damp evening. The 156 members that attended arrived mostly in their metal cars as only a few Corvettes were seen getting their feet wet. As part of the meeting the elections were held and results can be seen in the October newsletter.

For our first meeting at the Fishers American Legion 104 members attended along with over 30 Corvettes filling the lot. It was a beautiful evening as many arriving with their tops down. With the large number attending and a number ordering food the Legion was a bit overwhelmed and apologized for the delays. Now that they have seen the group they will be better prepared for the September 28 meeting. The meeting itself went well with the officer reports fairly short, read the minutes for the full information on each. In new business the Charity committee gave their report with a club vote then taken to have 5 charities be given $500 donations each, This year without meetings and the car show the charity fund was not as large as in past years, hopefully that it will be much larger next year. The final event of the evening was Keith, with Bob's help, finally being able to pass his 'battery trophy' on to William & Sharon. Just remember that this and the gas can trophy are travelling ones that will be given to 'deserving' members when earned. The meeting ended a bit before 8 with many tops being put down for the evening drive home.

In what turned out to be our last meeting at the Carmel American Legion and our first meeting indoors for months, there were only around 40 members in attendance. This did not constitute a quorum so no business was conducted but officer reports were given along with recent event recaps. The change in meeting locations has come about due to the fact that the Carmel commander wanted a room fee even if meals were purchased, as had been that evening. Due to this change in the arrangement the club is moving to the Fishers American Legion with meetings once a month now changed to the fourth Monday of the month. Please read club emails for any further information.

The second meeting after stopping because of the virus for a good portion of the year was again attended with over 70 members. As can be seen in the pictures a number of members did wear their masks as requested in respect to the others members around them. It was also great to see a number of Corvettes in the lot on what turned out to be  a very pleasant evening for sitting outside. The officer report portion was quick with Sharon reporting that Jim Kellam had a heart attack due to blockage, but was doing well so far, with our prayers going to him. It then proceeded along with a quick recap of the Croy's weekend trip, as the meeting did have the by-law and constitution vote to do. To accomplish this Diana Albright read through all of the constitution with all of the changes noted and then the changes for the by-laws. Once she was done there was a bit of confusion on getting a motion and the needed seconds. Finally  comments were asked for with Jim Shaver bringing up a number of procedural issues and general problems of both documents as presented and therefore a No vote was needed and then rectify the issues. Tom Piercy then made the observation that this is a Corvette club and that a portion of the presented changes were quite draconian for a social club. Bill Lapham then ask the question with the club being in existence for 31 years why some of the changes were even needed. There were no comments made for the approval of the changes. Once done with comments there was a paper vote taken with 26 Yes and 38 No votes. Since it would take 2/3 Yes vote of those of the quorum present the changes were defeated. It was a good meeting and nice to see members out and about.

Once the restrictions by state and local officials had been partially relaxed, Corvette Indy held their first monthly meeting after a four-month delay due to the COVID-19 virus. The meeting was held outside next to the outdoor kitchen/patio of the American Legion Post #155. Folks had the opportunity to practice safe distancing while others stayed away. Sixty-three members attended the meeting. Ray updated everyone on the status of activities followed by officer reports. Be sure to read the next club newsletter for all of the details. Also, please be sure to read the Friday updates provided by Social Director Jimmie Driscoll. Thanks to Jim Alvis for the report and pictures.

With a bit of spring in the air but still damp out the room filled slowly for the meeting but ended up with 101 members in attendance. With our president on vacation VP Shep took over the reins with several proctors keeping a close eye on him. The meeting went fairly quickly as a few officers were also not in attendance and the others had 'No Report', which always gets applause. Bob was back after missing several meetings and brought up a new type of fire extinguisher that will not harm electronics if you have an under dash or hood fire. It was good to see him back. The meeting ended with Shep only having two strikes against him, so he will be allowed another pinch hit at a later date.
02/17/2020
With a damp night and flu season in full swing only 84 members made it to the meeting, this did include 4 new ones that joined after ordering C8's. We now have six new members since the beginning of February for current total of 239! The meeting went quickly as there were a number of 'no reports' this evening which always speeds things up. Ray showed the latest Blue Bars which has our club's 30 Anniversary picture in the back cover, and an article too. Upcoming events include the Winter Party at the end of the month and the Caribbean Cruise at the beginning of March. Who knows maybe the weather gods will even allow Corvettes to attend the next meeting too.
02/03/2020
With a mid winter warm evening four Corvettes were at the meeting along around 100 members. The meeting itself went fairly quickly after a vote of where to hold this year's Christmas party, with the Legion again being chosen and to be held on the date of December 5. Our merchandise directors reminded everyone that next meeting (Feb 17) will be the last date to order this year's Main Event T-Shirt which is being held on June 5-7. Other reports were quickly done along with reminders of upcoming events of a Hockey game and the Damar Event this coming weekend.
01/20/2020
A bit smaller group of around 70 members made it to the second meeting of January, even though it was cold outside.
It was good to see Jim & Pam there too, as he is doing well with his continued treatment. Ray & Sherri had made it back from their Africa adventure with no loss of limbs, so Shep did not have to run the meeting. With not a lot of events going on at this time of year and short officer reports the meeting was over in a record 28 minutes! Continue to read Jimmies (our new social director) emails for the latest events coming up, with several in early February.
01/06/2020
The first meeting of the year was on a mild enough evening that 4 Corvettes and over a hundred members made their way to Carmel. Mary again treated those that purchased the buffet to steak and shrimp, another great meal. Once the meeting started Ray recognized Jim Shaver for his years as Social Director and Marg Herder for her continued Sargent of Arms responsibilities. The meeting then moved along with many officer 'no reports' and the rest fairly short. Jeff did remind everyone that orders are being taken for Main Event shirts and Jimmie discussed the new calendar that will be available through a link in his weekly newsletter. The meeting ended with a few then heading off to a Dairy Queen.
