2016 Penske All Corvette Show 08/20
With a rainy day predicted and threatening skies in the morning the fifth annual Penske All Corvette Show got underway with Corvettes rolling in to the Carmel American Legion for the second year in a row as early as 8 AM. Throughout the morning, even during showers, more Corvettes proved that they would not melt as around 156 finally got parked on the wet grass. It was a great sight to see each group roll in as clubs arrived together to join the day's event. In the end 17 Corvette clubs were represented in the show including a group from Illinois and one from the St. Louis MO area. This year the club members that enjoy autocross had a display of their Corvettes that they use to race and also including a guest who brought his SCCA racer. This car had recently raced at IMS among other locations. It was a neat sight and sound as it pulled off of the trailer and parked with racing fuel fumes in the air. The morning continued to have on and off showers with participants perusing the assembled Corvettes as they filled out their voting ballots. As is past years the non club members voted for the Corvette Indy vehicles while the CI members picked the non club cars that they liked. This is also the first year that the club got an NCCC sanction for a Peoples Choice car show so that all NCCC members will get region and national points. All of the participants thought that the method of judging was fair and appreciated the final results. The trophies were presented around three and finished up before the next round of rain and just in time for those participating in the 3 rallies being sponsored by the club to get underway. Be sure to check out the pages of trophy winners, rally results, and links to the write up of the show and also support all of the businesses that make the show of this size possible.
